ORDER OF THE ARROW
HISTORY: The O.A. was founded during the Summer of 1915 at Treasure Island the Philadelphia Council Camp. The purpose was recognition for the Scouts in the camp who best exemplified the Scout Oath in their daily lives. It was based on the legend and traditions of the Delaware Indians.
MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS: A Scout must be registered member of the B.S.A. hold First Class Rank (minimum) have 15 days of camping including 6 consecutive days and nights of resident camping under the auspices and standards of the B.S.A. Adults must be registered members of a troop and meet the camping requirements to be eligible for election.
ELECTION PROCEDURE: Election must be conducted by members of the O.A. Scouts are elected by fellow Scouts in their Troop. Adults are elected by the Troop Committee (only one adult per unit may be elected each year.)
