PARENT PARTICITATION AND OBLIGATIONS
All Parents of Scouts will have an obligation in the following areas:
Fund Raisers: All parents are required to participate in our efforts to raise money for camping trips and summer camp and the troop, and also for the council. Friends of Scouting (F.O.S) Which are our camps (Ten Mile River Scout Camps, Camp Alpine and Camp Pouch).
Transportation: The troop provides and coordinates transportation for any of its local trips with parents’ participation.
Equipment: Insure that the scout, when he leaves home for a camping trip, has the proper footwear and other equipment. On most of our trips, the Scout will carry in and out of the site all of his own equipment( Plus some Troop Gear). When your son leaves home for a camping trip, makes sure his equipment can be transported by him in a safe manner.
Merit Badges: Any parent may become a Merit Badges Counselors to help the Scouts work on their Advancement (See merit badge section).
Camping Trips: All parents must adhere to the instruction on the camping trip information sheet, please do not park in front of the church when picking up or dropping off your son.
Religious Reward: Any parent, if qualified to do so, may become a counselor for the various religious awards.
Troop Committee: Parents MUST join the troop committee and help support the troop. A parent Must have Youth Protection Training
Parents, we are NOT A BABYSITTING SERVICE. Participation on your part is required as well as necessary in making our boy scout troop function. Parents will be required to provide transportation for the troop throughout the year for our varied activities. So as the Boy Scout Motto says “BE PREPARED”
