TRAINING
Often we come across adults that do not attend training sessions, but conduct themselves in a manner that is not keeping with the B.S.A. This can only lead to miscommunications bad feelings and a negative effect on the total operation of the Troop. Based on this we strongly recommend all registered adults attend Boy Scout Leader Basic Training, As a matter of policy Troop 158 requires that all Troop Leaders attend this training. All training costs are paid by the troop upon proof of completion.
FAST START VIDEO: All Adult Leaders should avail themselves of the available training opportunities. Training can be done in your home, at a Committee Meeting, by a District or Council Representative. Within the first few weeks, new Committee Members should review the Fast Start Video.
YOUTH PROTECTION: All Troop Leaders and Parents who drive, and help to teach a skill, attend outings must take this training.
SCOUT LEADER BASIC TRAINING: Provides more details on operating an effective troop and includes outdoor experience to teach Scouting Skills. Founders District has an excellent training program operated by the “Queens Owls” This includes a five week training session with a day hike and an overnight experience.
